well originally, sis, we were the druids of britain and gaul, which was an undeveloped europe. however, we were originally a people who had no answers, and like most people of early ages, we came up with our own. when the romans invaded and took over britain and gaul, we had to surrender, and all of the druids (bar about 20) were hunted and killed. a few stayed though and hid themselves well. they practiced their druid beliefs, ad they evolved and evolved, until the 1940s roundabouts, when Gerald Gardner, a large british political figure, joined a coven. he then transformed wiccanism with his new (for then) book entitled "witchcraft today". it is because of this book and Gerald Gardner himself that we are so widespread. Gardner then moved over to america, about ten years after he made wiccanism a recognised religion and got witchcraft legalised. he then spread it over in america and it has just kept on evolving into what it is today.
